The Beginning of Nature European return tour

Back to all Events

18 April - 13 May 2020

In April-May, Australian Dance Theatre’s Helpmann Award winning work, The Beginning of Nature will undertake a return European season throughout Swizerland, Italy and Germany.

Weaving together music and astonishingly powerful contemporary dance, The Beginning of Nature explores life cycles and themes of metamorphosis and transformation within nature.

A uniquely South Australian dance production, the work features an original score featuring a libretto in Kaurna language, the language of the first peoples of the Adelaide Plains. Acclaimed composer, Brendan Woithe, collaborated with Kaurna consultant, Jack Buckskin, to develop the original score fusing electronica with the strings of Adelaide’s celebrated, Zephyr Quartet.
