Ignition (2000-2010) is Australian Dance Theatre’s annual in-house season of new, short dance works created by Australian Dance Theatre dancers and invited local choreographers/artists. Ignition provides an excellent opportunity for all participants to both explore their individual and collective choreographic aspirations and perform their works in a more intimate theatrical context.

In 2016 ADT  announced the return of its choreographic season Ignition. After a 5-year hiatus the company saw it timely to re-launch the choreographic season. The Ignition program provides these elements, needed to create quality work; production values, such as lighting, set, costume and sound, marketing services, space to rehearse and venue to perform the season, and dancers of the highest caliber to create on.
