SEASON 2025

A qUIET LANGUAGE

26 FEB - 6 MAR 2025
THE ODEON

An electric happening across time and space.

In Australian Dance Theatre’s 60th year, Artistic Director Daniel Riley creates a continuum between the company’s game-changing beginnings and bold collective future with A Quiet Language.

Against a backdrop of social upheaval and protest, Elizabeth Cameron Dalman OAM founded Australian Dance Theatre to expand the horizons of contemporary dance in this country. Now, the company fearlessly interrogates its legacy in a work that sees the company step backwards and forwards, exploring the history of Australian dance as it is written across the body and the country upon which we tread.

A Quiet Language is an electric happening that stretches Australian Dance Theatre’s artistry across time, space, culture and place. A future historic work that transmutes the rebellious energy of this iconic company’s early days into an electric new era.

A living and breathing archive of movement that crackles with the shock of the now that sees Australia’s oldest continuing contemporary dance company embrace the shifts in our culture and relish the opportunity of reinvention.
